Accessibility or Special Needs

The Guilford Bed & Breakfast welcomes all guests; However, due to the historic significance of our 1905 Maine property, the Inn is not wheelchair accessible, and traversing stairs is required to access every guest room. Removing necessary physical barriers for accessibility is not readily achievable as such removal would threaten or destroy the property's historical significance. These barriers include:

  • Numerous steps are required to enter The Bed & Breakfast
  • No elevator
  • Narrow hallways and doorways
  • We ensure that every guest who wishes to visit can do so regardless of their physical abilities. Among the ways we comply with ADA:
  • We ensure that individuals with disabilities can make reservations during the same hours and in the same manner as individuals without disabilities.
  • We have identified and described the features of the Bed & Breakfast and its guest rooms in detail so that individuals with disabilities can determine whether The Guilford Bed & Breakfast meets their needs.
  • Guests with legitimate service animals, as defined in the ADA, will be provided access to all areas of the Bed & Breakfast afforded to those without service animals. We ask that you call ahead so we can plan on welcoming your service animal appropriately.

Pets

While we love animals, we cannot accommodate any pets on the property because our resident mascot, a red-coated Dachshund named Peanut, roams the property, greeting guests.

We welcome Service Dogs as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act . If bringing a service dog. We ask that you inform our team when booking so we can prepare for your arrival. Service dogs are to remain under the owner's control, whether by voice command, leash, or harness and may not be left unattended in your room. A service animal may be asked to leave the premises if either (a) it is a direct threat to the health or safety of others, (2) it would result in substantial physical damage to the property of others, or (3) it substantially interferes with the reasonable enjoyment of the accommodations by others. Guests traveling with a service dog will not be charged a pet cleaning fee. However, charges may be incurred should a service animal damage or soil the premises.

Animals, including emotional support, comfort, or companion animals, are not considered service animals under the ADA and/or state and local laws and are not allowed on the premises. We reserve the right not to provide accommodations or ask a guest to leave the premises should they be in violation of this policy. Our usual cancellation policy will apply.

Parking

There is ample free parking on the grounds; However, The Guilford Bed & Breakfast and our staff are not responsible for any damage or theft to a guest's vehicle. We've got state-of-the-art surveillance cameras watching over the parking lot; anyone on our property may be recorded.

Kitchen Use

The kitchen is not for guest use. Please speak with an employee if you need to store food or medication.

Because of the historical significance of the Guilford Bed & Breakfast, all room keys are original skeleton keys. Replacing such a key is costly; Therefore, any lost keys will be charged to your account at $65.

Breakfast

Guests can enjoy a continental breakfast every morning from 8 AM to 9 AM. With advance notice, alternative options can be available for guests with dietary restrictions.

Laundry Services

WiFi and Televisions

There are no televisions available in any of our guest rooms; However, complimentary high-speed fiber Internet is available. Access information can be found in each guest room.

General Respect

We want you to have a great time when you are here. But if things get too crazy, we follow the old-school rule of 'you break it, you buy it', and property damages or missing items will be charged to your credit card on file at market value.

Pre-existing damages or room issues must be reported to the front desk immediately after registration to avoid liability and potential charges. The Guilford Bed & Breakfast allows guests, with permission, to receive occasional packages and special deliveries at the property.

While there is no rule about when you can come and go, as a paying guest of the Bed & Breakfast, and out of respect for the owners and other guests, we ask that guests minimize all noise between 11 PM and 7 AM.
